Perfect Examples Of Animated Movies That Are Works Of Art
Animation has come a long way since it first started. There are so many animated movies nowadays and so many studios that make them. They come from either the corporations and companies or from independent creators who have come a long way to make something as hard and time-consuming as animating. I have once learned from an independent animator that it took her 5 hours to finish a ten-second animation. Can you imagine making a movie that consists of almost 2 hours?
And with that in mind, I would like to highlight and appreciate some of the best animated movies in our modern time, purely so we can appreciate their time, effort and sacrifice into making them.
Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009)
A movie that was derived from a book. It is about the Fox family’s patriarch who happened to be a restless man with a certain anxiety for his own morals. That led him to his old criminal ways. A wonderful animated movie indeed, with gripping storytelling.
Spirited Away (2001)
Praises to Miyazaki on this one. Studio Ghibli is known all over the world for its release on fantastic animated movies. This one happens to be my favourite. All the colours and the scarily smooth animation as well as the mystery surrounding the story itself make for a wonderful movie. It even has merchanise sold all over the world.
Fantasia (1940)
This is what you call the greatest achievement on Disney’s part. A pure classic, made at the cusp of world war times. There are so many parodies and renditions of that one scene where Mickey Mouse was orchestrating magic with a wizarding outfit. That is how you know you made it.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarves (1937)
A movie older than my parents but is still referred to as a classic during these times. Not one child of this era has never heard of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. A fairy tale that all children loved even though we would admit how cheesy it actually was today.
Duck Amuck (1953)
One of the earliest fourth-wall break animation in history. A very short clip of Daffy Duck trying to fight the animator/artist who turns out to actually be Bugs Bunny by the end of the clip. It’s hilarious but at the same time terrifying when you think about it.
Wall-E (2008)
A wonderful movie made by Pixar. Its storytelling is magnificent. And the characters don’t even talk. You only get to really know about what’s happening with the world (and what happened to it) by the gripping shots and the animation itself. Still, it’s scary to know that hundreds of years in the future we all would look that fat and obsolete if we keep relying on machines.
There are hundreds and hundreds of animated movies but still. These are the ones that stand out so much. They aren’t just classics, they are here because of how GOOD they actually are.
